Dallas County Commissioners Court Watchdogs ALERT

We received this email from Cecile Newberry Fernandez who is a candidate for DCC District 1, and thought it would be of interest:

Dear Dallas County Taxpayer:

This Tuesday in Dallas County Commissioners Court, John Wiley Price will be appointing Aaron McCarthy, founder of the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), to the Dallas County Homeland Security Advisory Committee. Mr. McCarthy, who also goes by “Aaron Michaels” and “Aaron Michael” founded the NBPP in 1989. He has also been a radio producer and owns a bail bonds company.

Michaels rose to widespread attention for the first time when he called on blacks to use shotguns and rifles in Philadelphia to protest against the chairman of a school board. The group is unapologetically anti-white and anti-Semitic. The Anti-Defamation League, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the US Commission on Civil Rights all classify the NBPP as a hate group. The Anti-Defamation League’s website also classifies the group as a US domestic terrorist group.

You may remember that this is the same group for which the Department of Justice filed a civil suit alleging violations of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, over threats of violence outside a polling location in Philadelphia. This occurred during the 2008 presidential election.

Are you as outraged as I am about the appointment of this individual to such a powerful County Commission? Below are some specific actions that you can take to block this appointment:

1. Contact your Dallas County Commissioners.
Commissioner Maurine Dickey has already promised to vote against this appointment, but what about the other Commissioners and the County Judge?

County Judge Clay Jenkins – 214-653-7949
Commissioner Mike Cantrell – 214-653-6100
Commissioner John Wiley Price – 214-653-6671
Commissioner Elba Garcia – 214-653-6670

2. Speak out at Commissioners Court.
Join the Commissioners Court Watchdogs this Tuesday morning at 9am and speak out at Commissioners Court. The location is 411 Elm Street (in Downtown Dallas), and you can park directly behind the building. To register to speak, you must do so by 3pm on Monday, by calling 214-653-7327. You will have three minutes to speak.

3. Call the local media.
The media reports on items that the public finds interesting. Let them know that you’re interested!

WFAA: 214-748-9631
Fox 4: 214-720-3155
CBS 11: 817-451-1111

4. Forward this email to every Dallas County resident you know!

Thanks for your continued support and concern for the future of Dallas County! If elected your County Commissioner for District 1, I will continue to work with all of you to hold back the tide of corruption in Dallas County.

Sincerely,

Cecile Newberry Fernandez

Candidate for Dallas County Commissioner, District 1

Warning:  Tinfoil hats are required for this post. Remember A Certain Insidious Plan? The Republican National Committee has unanimously passed a resolution against it, even daring to use the term “Agenda 21,” and stating that the RNC . . . “recognizes the destructive and insidious nature of United Nations Agenda 21 and hereby exposes to the public and public policy makers the dangerous intent of the plan.”  The entire resolution:

Saddle Up Texas Straw Poll

This event is being held in Houston starting this Thursday. From the saddleuptexaspoll website http://saddleuptexaspoll.com/:

Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas has been secured as the venue for a three-day grassroots organized Straw Poll for Texas voters, to be held January 12, 13 and 14, 2012. The event is designed to allow Texas voters from around the state to gather to hear from Republican presidential candidates, participate in a straw poll, attend political action training and derive inspiration from conservative speakers and leaders from around the nation. The organizers of the Saddle Up Texas Straw Poll see the event as an opportunity to engage fellow Texans in the selection of a Republican presidential candidate before the early primary states effectively narrow the field of candidates. With the move of the Texas primary to April 3, the Saddle Up Texas Straw Poll just became even more relevant. This is our ONLY opportunity to have a voice in the presidential primary.

The event will start with a social mixer Thursday night where you will have the opportunity to visit candidate and vendor booths. Friday will be a day of conservative speakers and Senatorial candidates with a concert Friday night in Union Station. We are also hosting a VIP Reception that evening in the Executive Boardroom, overlooking Union Station. The VIP Reception will be an intimate setting and will afford guests the opportunity to mingle with all the VIPs and candidates.

The group’s founding organization, a non-profit corporation made up of volunteer organizers, is anxious to showcase grassroots cooperation and the ability to leverage Texas’ influence to a national audience. Living in the second-largest state in terms of size and electoral votes, the organizers of the Saddle Up Texas Straw Poll hope to influence the candidate selection process, energize the attendees as the election season begins, and provide an outlet for Texans to amplify their voices in the upcoming political season.

It looks like quite an event. If you can’t attend in person, purchasing a ticket to show support would be appreciated. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Also, you can vote in the straw poll by text message. Contact info@texasstrawpoll@gmail.com for instructions.
